Naught_Comic_smallThe candle flames keeping the future of Naught for Hire alight seem sometimes to burn brightly and other times to flicker and gutter, but they never go out. It takes a long time to raise sponsorships and financing for quality productions such as what we'll see with Naught.

Fan support is crucial and thankfully ours is unwavering under the guidance of Naught Stuff who holds his candles high to illuminate genre activities. The production staff of Naught for Hire remains very grateful for the efforts of the fans. Activities on The Agency website and Facebook make the wait for word of production go-ahead less frustrating. Just remember, as one producer/writer has said; getting a script or series produced is such a miracle that each time it happens another angel gets his/her wings. Well, Naught for Hire inches its way towards the goal of being green lit without the benefit of Charlie or George, but it does have Paramount.

In a recent telephone conversation with Executive Producer/Writer, Jeffrey Berman, Mr. Berman told this reporter that he and author John Stith are very busy laying out the character arcs and plotting for a four-comic book series that takes place 10 years before the action in Naught for Hire. They are working with a terrific artist  who's initial storyboard panels are said to bear a striking resemblance to Mr. Browder's portrayal of Nick Naught. In the opinion of this reporter, the fact that Berman and Stith are passing along the very noir outline to Ben Browder for his review and input is extremely unique in this business and thus very thoughtful. The comic book series prequel purports to provide a background story for what you'll see in the web series when it debuts.

Mr. Berman couldn't give a definitive date for the beginning of pre-production, but did say he was very excited about publishing the comic series and continuing to develop several stories for the eventual broadcast version.
